Today marks the 15th annual Novant Health Wilmington NC Marathon, a premier event offering runners a fast, flat, and scenic point-to-point course from Wrightsville Beach to historic downtown Wilmington. Participants can choose from various races, including the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, Fleet Feet 5k, and the 1 Mile LIDL Glow Run for kids. 

Wilmington NC Marathon

The Full Marathon kicks off at sunrise near Johnny Mercer Pier in Wrightsville Beach, guiding runners through picturesque coastal views and vibrant downtown streets, culminating at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion. This course is renowned for its potential to set personal bests and qualify for the Boston Marathon. 

For those seeking a shorter distance, the Toyota of Wilmington Half Marathon offers a 13.1-mile journey from the beach to the Cape Fear River, showcasing the charm of Wilmington’s seaside community. 

The Marathon Relay provides an opportunity for teams to experience the course together, while the Fleet Feet 5k offers a manageable distance for runners of all levels. The event also emphasizes community and family involvement with the 1 Mile LIDL Glow Run, promoting health and wellness among children.
