At SeaFoam Co., we believe great gardens start from the ground up—and sometimes, that means giving your soil a little love with lime.
Adding lime to your garden is a simple way to reduce soil acidity and raise the pH level. This can be especially helpful in areas with heavy rainfall, where soil tends to become more acidic over time. Why does this matter? Because many of your plants—especially vegetables, lawn grasses, and certain ornamentals—struggle to thrive in overly acidic conditions.

One of our favorite lime tricks? Turning hydrangeas pink or red 🌺
If your hydrangeas are naturally blue or purple and you’d prefer a warmer color palette, applying garden lime can help. Lime raises the pH of the soil, reducing the availability of aluminum—the element responsible for blue hues in hydrangeas. Over time, this shift encourages pink or red blooms instead!
💡 Pro tip: Apply garden lime in the fall or early spring, and test your soil to ensure you’re applying the right amount.
Healthy soil = healthy plants = beautiful gardens.
